This scan is carried out between 6 weeks and 10 weeks of pregnancy.

The main purpose is to confirm an interuterine preganacy and if a single or multiple gestation. The scan also verifies fetal viability which includes assessing fetal heart beat and fetal movements - which is always reassuring for the Mother.

The standard early Fetal Measurements are taken and you will be presented with a written Report and several black and white images of your baby.

This scan may involve an internal transvaginal scan if the pregnancy is very early. We recommend that you present our Report and findings to your General Practitioner.
